Mission
The Austin Lady Magic Basketball Club is dedicated to promoting the sport of basketball in the North Austin area by providing opportunities for skill development in a competitive environment designed to enhance athletic performance.
History
The Austin Lady Magic Basketball Club was founded in the winter of 2003. In our inaugural season, we placed over fifty athletes on five teams with ages ranging from eleven to fifteen. Teams played seven tournaments in the Austin area with the Lady Magic finishing in the top three in every tournament. As we approach our eighth season, we are excited about the future of the Austin Lady Magic. We witnessed tremendous growth in our players and teams each year and in 2009 our 15/u team finish in the Elite Eight at PTS Nationals in Dallas. We also saw these girls learning valuable life lessons such as teamwork, responsibility, and commitment. The Lady Magic seek the total athlete who works hard on the court and in the classroom and who is willing to serve as a positive role model for younger members of the community.
Goals
The goal of each team is for the athletes to experience basketball at a highly competitive level, to help inspire a love for the game, and to instill in each young lady the appreciation for good sportsmanship. Each team will be encouraged to have fun in a demanding environment. The Austin Lady Magic shall encourage parent/guardian involvement and good sportsmanship. The club seeks to develop the total athlete.
Austin Lady Magic is a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization.
