Stacie Fitzgerald

Stacie’s background includes playing 4 years of college basketball, including Division I basketball at Texas State University and Division II basketball at East Texas Baptist University. She has over 10 years of coaching experience, including coaching for 2 years at Kingwood High School (Houston), 4 years at her alma mater, Klein High School (Houston), 3 years at Cactus Shadows High School (Phoenix), and is now coaching at Westwood High School in Austin. She has experienced great success at the high school level, including undefeated JV seasons and 3 trips to the Final Four in Arizona at the varsity level. She has also found success as a head tennis coach by taking a previously unsuccessful team to play-offs 3 straight seasons. Stacie also has experience as an assistant volleyball and track coach.

After graduating from Klein High School in Houston, Stacie received a B.S. in Secondary Education with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology. She has also obtained her M.A. in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.

Stacie has directed numerous basketball camps for ages 8 and up during the summer and has also provided private training lessons for girls in the Houston/Phoenix areas. She has also successfully coached club basketball teams from 4th-8th grade since she was still in high school.

Stacie’s expectations for the season are that each player will work diligently each day to improve. Although perfection is an impossibility, striving toward perfection is not. Her coaching philosophy also includes the idea that we will respect all opponents, but fear none. Success will result from hard work and dedication to mutual goals. And of course, we must always ENJOY what we are doing!
